Growing up in the small town of Olla, Louisiana (born in Nathitoches, Louisiana) Charlane learned early on that she had big dreams to travel the world. Her favorite times were when she and her family would take road trips around the country.

During her college years at the University of Louisiana, Monroe Charlane took a study abroad trip to the Yucatan which sparked her interest in international travel. She began to make time in her studies for trips out of the country.

Charlane continued to travel as she gained her masters degrees at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her education completed, Charlane decided to move out West. She spent 10 years in the San Francisco area working as an HR professional for a variety of hi-tech startups, continuing to spend every available vacation day on an adventure to somewhere new.

During this time she was fortunate enough to fulfill her lifelong dream and took a year off to travel the world. She spent a great deal of time in Asia and Africa and an assortment of other countries. And everywhere she went her camera went as well. Charlane has amassed thousands of spectacular photos of places and people in remote and exotic locations.

Charlane’s wanderlust has taken her to Reykjavik, Iceland where she and her American boyfriend are sharing the adventure of living in a new country. As always, she has her camera at the ready and will be taking advantage of living so close to Europe to fill out her portfolio.
